Music Monday: “All of Me”- John Legend

Happy Memorial Day Everyone!

My family has been super busy this past week.  I had some family graduate from high school.  As such, we have had parties and various other festivities to attend to.  Also, my father and I cut down some trees in the back yard.  They weren’t very big, but we cut them down.  Since I have had the weekend off, I have started working on some other projects.  What projects are those?  Well, various others, but most importantly my new jingle dress and a new honeycomb quilt.  I will post pictures when I get more done on them.  However, since today is Monday, it is time to work on today’s post.  This week’s song is “All of Me” by John Legend.

This particular song, thankfully, knocked Pharell’s “Happy” from the top of the Top 40 list these past couple of weeks.  Now I am not a big fan of R&B or Soul genre of music.  I prefer more pop and rock.  I will listen to other stuff, but I will forever have a soft spot in my heart for what is now classified as “classic rock” like Blue Öyster Cult, Credence Clearwater Revival, and The Beatles.  Out of all John Legend’s songs, this particular song I like.  The reason I like it is probably not the same reason that everyone else that likes the song does.  That reason is that I really like the piano part.  I like that it does not have a bunch of junk going on in the background.  The sound is pure and not muddled to where you cannot understand it.  Odd, I know.  I have such eclectic taste in music that my reasons for liking the songs I like are all over the board.

So, do you all like this song?  What is your reason for liking it?

Until next time!  Enjoy the rest of your Memorial Day!
