More Continuation! Number 10-6 of my Top Ten Favourite Anime Endings!

As I mentioned in the last article I mentioned that I was going to post my 10-6 favourite anime openings and endings. Since that was the openings, here are the endings! I hope you enjoy and be sure to check out the series!

Number 10: “Shissou” –LAST ALLIANCE from Ouran High School Host Club

Much like my number 10 on the openings, I do love this song. I have it on my iPod actually. However, it can get really annoying, really fast. It goes well with the rest of the series though.

What I enjoy about this ending is that there really isn’t much in terms of animation. Rather, it uses images from the manga. While I do love this anime, the last few episodes kind of ruined it for me and I still find the manga more enjoyable. That being said, this ending is great and fun to listen to. Just don’t put it on repeat or have it come up in shuffle too much or you will get tired of it.

Number 9: “Drastic My Soul”-Mikio Sakai from s-CRY-ed

I really miss this show and I wish they would show it again. It came out when I was in high school and I it quickly became one of those anime that I love. This, much like Saint Seiya, didn’t really get much love in the States.

“Drastic My Soul” is one of those quirky endings that I like, but at the same time I don’t feel like it fits with the animation that goes on in the background. The song itself matches the themes addressed in the series, but not much else. I mean some of the animation fits, but not all of it and it really bothers me. Also, the birds that fly off in the middle are so random and that is another thing that bothers me. I get it. Better animation would have done this song some good. As much as I love the song, the animation gets it a low spot on my list.

Number 8: “Hitori Janai”- Deen from Dragonball GT

I really am not sure what to make of Dragonball GT. I want to like it, but at the same time I really don’t like the way that they brought it over to the States. I feel like that could have been done better. That being said, this ending is actually pretty great.

This is a fun happy song and the title translates to “I’m not alone”. The animation is cute and goes well with the song. I just can’t get over the oddness of how they brought it to the States though and that is really the only thing that bothers me since a whole bunch of the episodes were cut out to begin with for no good reason. Of all the endings from the Dragonball franchise, this one is my favourite. The second ending from this particular series, Don’t You See is a close second and it almost made the list instead of this one, but there is a bit too much English in it for me to like it and it borrows more from precious parts of the franchise than this one does.

Number 7: “Shinjitsu no Uta”- Do As Infinity from InuYasha

Do As Infinity has been one of my favourite Japanese bands for a long time. Their music is wonderful and easy to listen to. “Shinjitsu no Uta” is quite possibly my favourite song by them even before I saw it used as the ending for InuYasha. However, the animation isn’t all that great.

Honestly, I found the animation that goes with it to be a bit lackluster. That isn’t to say that the quality is bad. The quality is wonderful, just like the rest of the series is. I just wasn’t impressed with this ending. The song is great though and that is what got this as high on the list as it is. I almost put it lower, but I really, really love Do As Infinity.

Number6: “Genesis of Next”- globe from Cyborg 009

Cyborg 009 was actually the first anime that I ever remember watching on a regular basis. The first time that I saw it, it was showing in black and white. This song almost made it up higher, but the animation kills it a bit. Much like Ouran High School Host Club, this ending uses images from the original manga. While that isn’t a horrible thing, it just bothers me that they did such a crap job on the ending and the rest of the series is fantastic. The music video for this song is one of my favourite music videos of all time. Take a look at it.

For those of you who don’t know, Clockwork Orange is one of my favourite movies and books. It is so odd and this video borrows a lot of its imagery from that movie. This video far outshines the anime ending that it is borderline ridiculous.  Also, it is a bit different version.  Not sure which version of the song I like more though.  Both are great.
So now my lists are complete! You may click here to see the continuation that was done a bit out of order. Oh well. That happens sometimes. Don’t forget to check out the series mentioned above! They are all pretty great and each one has something fun about them. If you are looking for my Top Ten Anime Series you may click here and check that out.
