My Favourite Banana Nut Bread Recipe

With autumn being here we now have access to a new batch of fresh fruits and vegetables.  It is also the time of the year that people seam to make more breads.  Today I will be sharing with you all a recipe for my favourite Banana Nut Bread!


  • ½ a cup of butter
  • A bit of honey
  • 1 ¼ a cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 very ripe bananas
  • ¼ a cup of milk
  • 2 cups of unbleached flour
  • ½ a teaspoon of baking soda
  • ½ -1 cup of pecans or walnuts


  • Preheat the oven to 350°
  • Beat the eggs
  • Mash the bananas
  • Cream the butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl
  • Add the eggs to the creamed butter and sugar mixture and mix well
  • Alternate adding the milk, bananas, and flour to the mixture
  • Add about one squeeze of a honey
  • Mix the nuts into batter
  • Pour batter into a couple of medium large loaf pans that have been sprayed with cooking spray or greased
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
