• 1¼ cup of milk
  • 1¼ cup of unbleached flour
  • 4 eggs
  • ¼ a cup of bacon, cheese, or fruit (Optional mix-ins)
  • ½ a stick of butter


  • Heat a frying pan and melt the butter while preparing the batter
  • Mix milk, flour, and eggs together until smooth (The mixture will be runnier than normal pancakes)
  • Add your mix-ins if desired and mix well
  • Pour a ladleful of batter into the pan of melted butter and cook until the top is dry and the edges begin to brown
  • Flip the pancake and cook for about two minutes to finish cooking
  • Remove and serve with syrup or apple butter
