I’m in my Twenties. Yes, I Still Play Pokémon

Don’t judge me!  There are actually a lot of us.  In fact, quite a few of my friends play Pokémon.  I also love the anime, the manga, and the cards.  I still have all my TCG cards and I do have the TCG online.  It’s a lot of fun to play and I really adore the anime.  Despite the number of people that are my age that still play Pokémon, you would be amazed at how many times I’ve actually been told I was childish for still liking this franchise and playing the games.  So, I’m writing an article about it.  Scratch that, I’m going to write a few articles about Pokémon because my love for this franchise would take way too long to explain otherwise.  Let’s get started on the first one!

I did grow up in the midst of the Pokécraze.  I was actually ten when Pokémon Red and Blue was released in the States.  As such, I ended up getting to enjoy that delightful time in Pokémon history to the fullest.  All of my friends, apart from the ones whose parents felt that the whole things was demonic, had the cards and then games.  I was also the first of my friends to own any of the Pokémon dvds.  I even have the one that had the episode that was banned in the States for a long time, “Tentacool & Tentacruel”.  I woke up every morning to watch Pokémon before school.  My mother watched it with me.  Her favourite Pokémon is Jigglypuff.  She also likes Munna, Musharna and Tepig.  My mother was the awesome mother that actually knew about the franchise.  Of course, my mother was the one that got started my siblings and me playing games.  So, really it is my mother’s fault I’m such a nerd.  Dank Mama.  My favourite Pokémon are Eevee, Skitty, Dewott, and Chandelure in case you all were wondering.

Even though I grew up playing Red, Blue, and Yellow I am not what people call a “genwunner”.  While I do enjoy the First Generation of games, I also love the newer generations of games.  In fact, my favourite generation is the Fifth Generation.  Yeah, the least popular of the generations is my favourite.  What can I say?  I really liked the storyline.  It was a bit of a nice change from the previous generations and I really found myself really liking the character of N.  He was by far one of the most complex single antagonist that had been in the franchise.  I really liked that change.  I mean, I will forever have a soft spot in my heart for Team Rocket from the first couple of generations.  The Sixth Generation came out in October of 2013 and was the first game of the franchise that was released at the same time worldwide.  It is believed that this was because of the new features that allowed people in certain regions of the world to catch Pokémon in their games that were unique to where they purchased that game.  With the Wondertrade feature you could end up with a whole variety of regional variations of Pokémon which is awesome.  I loved being able to customize my trainer as well.  That was fantastic and was a feature that I had wanted for a long time.

Now that you all know a bite about my exposure to the Pokémon franchise I will post the links to the rest of my Pokémon articles down below as they get put up.
