My Home Church’s Choir is Pretty Awesome and I’m Glad to be a Member!
Okay, so I have to brag about my church’s choir for the moment. We sang a song called “Never Once” the week before Easter on 29 March 2015. I really liked this song, and we worked really hard on it. It turned out really great. When I joined our church choir it was fairly small. Now we barely have enough room for new members. That’s a great problem to have! A lot of my friends at the church are involved in the music ministry in some way. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful group of friends. While we don’t usually have videos of our choir, we do have recordings that you can listen to and down. It’s fantastic. Here is the one that I mentioned earlier.
Being in a choir is a lot different than what most people who are not involved with musical ensembles would think. Our choir rehearses for a minimum of an hour every week. That time goes up depending on if we have a holiday special. We also have rehearsal for about ten to fifteen minutes before church on Sunday to go over our song for the day. On Wednesday our orchestra practices. Our other ensembles practice for half an hour or more every week. The people that perform during the offertory and small ensembles rehearse for various amounts of time throughout the week. That’s a lot of time put in by a lot of people during a week! I have played during offertory, I am in choir, and I am also in the orchestra. I spend a lot of time at my church when I am not working or in meetings. I enjoy it though. So, it doesn’t feel like I’m forcing myself to go. I joined because I wanted to.
If you want to go listen to our other songs you can download our church app on the Apple App Store, on Windows Phone, on Google Play, or you can go to our website.
